Furlonger’s full time at Bletchingley

With a driving range that’s open to the public, along with an indoor teaching studio with the latest tech, all-weather tees and greens, short game area and putting green, Bletchingley Golf Club has turned to PGA Professional Steve Furlonger to promote the facility and maximise the sales of its impressive game improvement resource.

Over the past few years, Furlonger’s teaching expertise and reputation has helped him build up a large following of golfers and beginners, many of whom have then gone on to become members at clubs in the area.

By providing coaching on a part time basis, Furlonger had already developed a very effective relationship with the club. Coming on board full time will add even more value to the club, as he explains: “My role is to attract non-members by promoting the club’s terrific game improvement facilities.”

He adds: “Thanks to my social media campaign, I’m now getting booked all week long, morning, noon and evening. My approach is to help all my students enjoy their golf whatever their level of ability, and to see it as a great way for them and their families to have fun. All this is working to Bletchingley’s advantage, as these customers often stop for something to eat and drink in the clubhouse, and check out the membership opportunities.”

Furlonger’s delighted with the way things are going, saying: “I’ve also invested in the latest Flightscope system, so Bletchingley’s got the full package when it comes to game improvement, and things are now going well enough for the club to invest in another six new outdoor bays.”
