Tristan Crew, PGA Executive Director – Members Services, has this message for the latest crop of graduates from the PGA Foundation Degree and to those current PGA Professionals who play a key role in guiding them on their PGA journey.
“This is arguably one of the most special and significant days in The PGA’s annual calendar. Today more than 140 trainees graduate from their foundation degree and thereby fulfil the educational criteria for future Membership of The PGA. Only the small step of recommendation to Membership remains, prior to me welcoming these graduates as Members of the oldest PGA in the world.
“This day is however not only about the graduates. The training professionals have provided a fundamental part of the education process which undoubtedly will have had a huge influence on the career success of these individuals. The time and effort that these training professionals have committed is wholly appreciated and they can be proud that they have not only provided invaluable input but also assured the maintenance of standards and hence the reputation of The PGA professional. This reputation is one that has been built over decades and extends beyond the shores of GB&I, to recognition by the global golf industry.
“To those that graduate today I offer my congratulations on your significant achievement and I look forward to welcoming you into Membership. To the training professionals, I offer my sincerest thanks for your ongoing commitment in developing the PGA Professionals of the future and hope that we can rely on your continued support over the coming years.”
