PGA Director of Golf qualification

Course Title: PGA Director of Golf Induction Day
Start/End date: 11/2/2020
Maximum Places: 12
Cost (Member): £225.00
Course Introduction: On the day full details will be given of the knowledge and performance criteria that pertain to the PGA Certificate of Golf Management Theory and the PGA Director of Golf qualification. Prior to the day candidates will be issued workbooks that they must work through (self assessment of current knowledge & competence) and then on the day candidates will work with an assessor (one assessor to four candidate basis) to develop an action plan which will plot the pathway ahead. As part of the induction day fee, two hours of professional discussion have been allocated per candidate. Some will leave the induction with some targeted professional development to undertake before moving to the next stage, whilst others will move on to the next phase of the programme (PGA Certificate of Golf Management Theory) which will aim to assess the candidate’s knowledge and understanding of all the key aspects of the Director of Golf qualification.
Course Content: Once registered onto the course, 30 minutes of this time is allocated prior to the course, in which one of the assessors will contact the candidate personally approximately 3 weeks before the Induction Day. An hour and half is then allocated after the course for further professional discussion and advice in order that communication between the candidate and the PGA assessors does not stop when you leave at the end of the day.
Course Objectives: This will be a ‘stand alone’ section to meet the needs of candidates not currently in senior management roles, and who wish to use the knowledge and understanding requirements as a detailed framework for their personal training and development. All credit gained through this part of the process will be taken forward to the full Director of Golf qualification. Those who pursue this route will receive formal recognition through the awarding of a PGA Certificate which, in turn, may help them to apply for more senior posts in the industry.
Required equipment: Pen, Pencil, CoGMT workbook, DoG workbook, Training Manual (sent in Joining Instructions) . Please bring updated’ electronic files of these documents with you to the Induction Day (either on your Laptop or on a USB stick) as they will be added too and amended during the course of the day.
