Edwards fundraising events do the trick

A Christmas Champagne Charity Pairs Challenge organised by the world-renowned trick shot artist, PGA Professional David Edwards, has taken the amount he has raised for Prostate Cancer UK past the £23,000 mark.

The event, staged at Forest Pines in Lincolnshire four days before Christmas, raised £1,600.

It was the second fundraising event Edwards organised for Prostate Cancer UK last year – the first, the David Edwards Invitational Charity also held at Forest Pines in September, raised £8,000.

As a result, the Lincolnshire-based pro whose David Edwards Golf Show has proved popular worldwide – not least recently in China, Morocco, Florida and France – has raised £23,600 for the charity in the past three years.

Commenting on the success of the events, he said: “The David Edwards Invitational Charity has become so popular it is now held annually.

“The last one sold out months beforehand and I’m hopeful this year’s will follow suit.

“That more than £23,000 has been raised for such an important cause in three years is due the generosity of everybody who has taken part in or supported the events. I can’t thank them enough.”
