The Belfry and Cheltenham-based Sibling Distillery are once again supporting the PGA Midlands Brabazon Series – a six-event competition contested during the winter.
Each of the six events will be contested on the four-time Ryder Cup stage, the resort’s Brabazon course, under a BetterBall Stableford format and, subject to 55 pairs competing, carry a £2,000 prize fund.
The series is open to pairs comprising two professionals, a professional and amateur or two amateurs. Amateurs will be entitled to 90 per cent of their handicaps (maximum 24 men and ladies 30).
The winners of the series will receive a night’s accommodation at The Belfry on a bed and breakfast basis and complimentary fourball on the Brabazon.
Last year’s Brabazon Series was won by Leicestershire’s Michael Reed, a PGA Professional at Glen Gorse Golf Club, and his amateur partner from Birstall Golf Club, Daniel Bacon.
The pair finished tied 12th with 37 points in the first event of the new series, seven adrift of the winners, Elsham Golf Club duo, PGA pro David McNicholas and James Marklew.
The dates of the five remaining events are: (2019) November 26, December 17, (2020) January 21, February 18, March 10.
