European team captain for the 2020 Ryder Cup in America Padraig Harrington has been announced as the guest of honour for this year’s PGA Lunch in London.
The annual event returns to London’s Grosvenor House on December 20. Three-time Major winner Harrington will be a popular guest having established himself as one of the most likeable and successful golfers in the world.
The Irishman has played in no fewer than six Ryder Cups and has been on the winning team on four occasions having played a total of 25 matches.
A vice-captain in 2014, 2016 and more recently in France last year, Harrington now has the honour of leading the European team at the 2020 Ryder Cup in Whistling Straits, where Europe will be looking to claim their first victory in America since 2012.
Harrington will be joined by stand-up comedian Jimmy McGhie, while BBC Radio Five Live journalist and golf hack Iain Carter is the host for the afternoon.
Elsewhere, Rugby World Cup winner Will Greenwood MBE is the guest of honour for the PGA Lunch in Manchester.
Greenwood is regarded as one of England’s greatest ever rugby players and had a hugely successful career with Harlequins and Leicester City. He made 55 appearances for his country and was selected for three British and Irish Lions tours.
The BBC’s Andrew Cotter will return as host and retired Police sergeant Alfie Moore will be providing his hilarious and thrilling insights into life at the front-line of the police force.
